As professionals, we commit to the promotion of the public good. Our next step in APARU is to further develop our professional network. We want to boost connections to promote trust and expand our expertise, helping others to use their skills to unleash their potential. We believe that good will encourages solidarity and strengthens our community.

Our goal is to create digital spaces by areas of interest, where professionals could communicate to share information and enable collaboration. We also want to put in a place a mentoring model through which professionals with UK experience could help newcomers or those living outside the UK who require guidance - and this does not necessarily imply a big time commitment 15 minutes spent on a CV review could change someone's future.

Our definition of professionals is not guided by the attainment of a university degree, it refers to the search for excellence in whatever field we work in.

These are the areas of interest that we look to provide support on:

  • Arts (musicians, dancers, choreographers, painters, sculptors, make-up artists, music producers, DJs, cultural events organisers, designers, photographers, writers, etcetera)

  • Sports (players, coaches, personal trainers, recruiters, sports events organisers, etcetera)

  • Media and marketing (journalists, publicists, communication professionals, marketers, bloggers, video editors, animators, etcetera)

  • Technology (developers, testers, project managers, product managers, business analysts, etcetera)

  • Law and society (solicitors, lawyers, civil servants, charity workers, social workers, political campaigners, environmentalists, etcetera)

  • Health care (doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, reflexologists, nutritionists, masseuses, yoga practitioners, practitioners of other alternative therapies)

  • Education (academics, researchers, students, teachers, tutors, early education teachers, language teachers, translators, etcetera)

  • Finance (accountants, finance specialists, etcetera)

  • Business and entrepreneurs (investors, entrepreneurs, etcetera)

  • Gastronomy (chefs, parrilleros, restaurant owners, street food entrepreneurs, food and drinks importers, distributors, retailers, consultants and investors, etcetera)

  • Developers, engineers & property management  (property developers, builders, engineers, architects, painters, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, estate agents, etcetera)

  • Others (tourism, etc )

We are recruiting volunteers that are willing to run and administer the different digital spaces and initiatives. We do not expect a time commitment of more than 2 hours a month. The platform is now running on beta and we aim to have a public launch soon. If you would like to volunteer please get in touch with Macarena.
